On Saturday, August 24, 2019 we will be hosting a Gala Event to celebrate our 10-year Anniversary at the Heathrow Legacy Club. We are excited that our feature speaker will be Alexandra Reeve Givens, daughter of Christopher Reeve. Alexandra serves on the Board of Directors of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
NextStep Orlando is an affordable, state-of-the-art, community-based paralysis recovery and fitness center. By offering standardized activity-based therapy programs and interventions, based on research; our centers provide the best chance for recovery, independence, and health.

Our aggressive Activity-Based Program is designed to provide exercise that combines technological advancements with scientific knowledge. In short, our Activity-Based Trainers develop and deliver therapies that promote FUNCTIONAL recovery to improve the health and quality of life for our clients.
Why is this type of therapy so important? With over 10 years of experience in the paralysis recovery field, we have learnt that therapy means so much more than learning to compensate for what was lost after a life changing accident. The body is designed to move, especially when living with paralysis! The prevention of secondary health conditions is high on the list of our program, a sedentary life increases an individuals risk of chronic health problems such as; heart disease, higher blood pressure and diabetes. Clients who attend our program on a consistent basis have noticed enhanced functions in a variety of areas, including: cardiovascular endurance, bladder control, bone density, circulation and mental health.
We are proud to be the only Community Fitness and Wellness Center Affiliate of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation in the State of Florida. Through this Affiliation, NextStep Orlando is a member of the NeuroRecovery Network (NRN), a network of cutting-edge rehabilitation sites that deliver therapies that activate the dormant nervous system through Activity-Based Therapies. This program is NOT covered by insurance. Insurance is limiting the recovery of those living with paralysis, teaching individuals how to adapt and live in their wheelchair. We do not accept this, we provide HOPE!!
